According to a recent Gallup poll, over 70% of Americans hate their jobs and just 30 percent of employees are engaged and inspired at work. If you’re unhappy with your job, then you might want to consider running your own business.
Here’s a quick look at some of the benefits of being your own boss: 1) You get to do what you love. This is likely the most important reason to become an entrepreneur. There’s no reason to continue working at a job that you aren’t passionate about. Are you checking your watch or a clock on the wall at least twice every hour? If so, you probably don’t like what you’re doing (at least not entirely). If you are not fully committed to your employment, then you’re wasting your time and as we all know, time is money. Here are some words of wisdom from Confucius: “If you love what you do, you’ll never have to work a day in your life.” 2) You can be your own boss. Do you like your boss? Do you like their management style or not? Do they trust you to do the job you were hired to do? When you’re an entrepreneur, you don’t have to worry about these things, because you’re your own boss. You set your own schedule and complete tasks on your own time. Plus, you can work in your own home office or on the beach in the Bahamas. 3) You’ll have more job stability. Organizations often go through layoffs and restructuring processes. You may get fired, laid off or even get demoted. In the corporate world, you’re never safe and the job you know and count on today may not exist tomorrow. When running your own business, you never have to worry about being let go from a job again. As long as you have the skills to keep your company afloat and make profits, you will have a job for as long as you want. 4) You create your own future. As an entrepreneur, you have an incredible amount of flexibility. You can decide to work a lot or you can work just a little bit every day. You ultimately have the power to create your own future. The amount of your success depends solely on the work that you’re willing to put in.
